Fannypack - See You Next Tuesday

Fannypack were, like much of my musical taste, a discovery made on a mix-CD made for me by an eccentric acquaintance. Fannypack are certainly eccentric themselves. Kind of like if Gravy Train!!! hooked up with Gwen Stefani and Missy Elliot and found some really insane male DJs in day-glo outfits with pencil moustaches in a gay club in New York to back them and formed a band together. You know that M.I.A girl? I bet she has this album.
You get the feeling that this record is entirely tongue-in-cheek, sort of the new Chicks On Speed, only less annoying. Even the album title is endeering in a strange sort of way.
I know it is traditional to post the cover of the album with Big Static posts, but the cover of this is boring whilst the bandmembers themselves are slightly more eyecatching, even if the two guys in the band are excluded from this photo. According to Amazon, "other people that bought this album also bought M.I.A, Sleater Kinney, Chicks On Speed..."
Cheeky, catchy, dance hip-hop. Fun stuff!
